Spölur is a very beautiful and good first price stallion with the nicest character ever!!! He also has a GREAT pedigree (see to the left). Everybody loves to ride and take care of Spölur and over the last years he has even been ridden by young children. We owned him from the year 2000 - 2006 and in that period we used him as a competition horse and also used him for breeding, both with great results. We have had around 20 offsprings from Spölur, which all have been great riding horses or even breeding and competition horses. You can always count on a nice character and flowing tölt !!!  Now he's back at Sólvangur and for sale. And hopefully we can find a nice place for him in the future. He could still be used in competition and for all kind of riders, because he is super easy to control and ride ;) The ideal would be a young rider !!!! We were just taking him in after a break on the fields, and he is very fit and healthy and he has many good years still to come. Also he has never had problems in his feet or back or anything like that. I could go on and on about how great Spölur is and I would wish I could buy him myself again. Spölur has a total score of 8.09 in breeding, but he has also gotten very good scores in Gæðingakeppni, B-flokkur - 8.50 and in Tölt (Sport) 7.0. Although Spölur got a high score for pace in the breeding show when he was young, he has always been used as a four gated horse. And in my opinion he should have gotten 9 for tölt and 7 for pace.

Skuggi is a fivegated stallion with very flowing movements and a great character. He is after our first price mare Steinvör frá Nautabúi - an Orri daughter that has been very successful in both five gate and T2 (she is also the mother of these great horses Vala, Spóla, Erla and Sjóður) and his father is the well known Rökkvi frá Hárlaugsstöðum. Skuggi will out a doubt be a successful competition horse in the future and we are heading for a high score in the breeding show this spring and hopefully Landsmót.

Brjánn is a pretty and very talented young horse. He has a good pedigree and has really good leg movements and good and clear gates. Brjánn is probably fivegated but pace has not been trained yet. He is alive in spirit but very nice to handle. He listens well to the seat of the rider and has like many other horses here he has been used for tests at Hólar (the Icelandic riding school), both as a young horse and later as a horse in training were he got a total score of 9. He is in our oppinion very promising as a competition horse.

Ösp is a very promising young fourgated mare (though showing some sign of pace...). She has very nice movements and good clear gates. Ösp has an interesting pedigree, and she is actually related to the famous mare Alfa frá Blesastöðum, but both of them are linked to Kílhraun. Ösp is likely to be a successful competition horse and also she is very nice to work with. Ösp loves to be around people and likes to do what the rider asks of her. She is willing and nice to handle.

Prinsessa is a very talented young mare with a great willingness and a nice character. She is always thinking forward without being stressed and it is so nice to work with her. Prinsessa is fivegated and all the gates are very good and she loves to take pace strides ;) This is a mare that will defenately be a good competition horse and a breeding mare. She has allready gone through the training test at Hólar with great results.

Prinsessa is a horse that we believe most people will love ;) We have had a few brothers and sisters of her (same mum) and they are all great horses. This is a very nice mare !!!!

Very nice mare pregnant again with Flögri frá Sólvangi!!!

Bakkavör is a nice minded fourgated mare with good leg movements and a good tölt. She is easy to handle and could both work as a riding horse or as a breeding mare. She has a very interesting pedigree with Ófeigur frá Flugumýri and Feykir frá Hafssteinsstöðum as grandfathers. She is pregnant with our beautiful stallion Flögri frá Sólvangi that got on of the highest score for conformation this year in the world – 8.68

The foal here on the left is called Kolbrá frá Sólvangi and the father is Flögri frá Sólvangi. Kolbrá is also for sale.

Gullbrá is a very nice minded and a promising mare with a great pedigree. She has gone through a young horse training test at Hólar this spring with great result. She is five gated and already showing nice strides in pace. This is a very promising mare in every way.

Skjanni is a very sweet and nice looking gelding. He has a great temperament in is very eager to learn and do what the rider asks of him. He has high leg movements and is probably four gated. This is a horse that will be perfect as a horse for the whole family, just a horse that everybody can fall in love with :) He is just learning how to tölt and takes really nice strides.
