Children's experience
Help groom a horse, then enjoy a short led ride with an instructor. Parents are welcome to watch and take photos. Indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather.

One-to-one tuition with a certified instructor, from first steps to focused training. Ride your own horse or one of ours, indoors or outdoors as conditions allow.

Private experience for advanced riders
A personal lesson that may finish with a short outdoor ride. For regular riders or those who have taken lessons with us; experience and conditions are assessed before booking.

A family brought together by horses
Our family has called Sólvangur home since 2001. Elsa Magnúsdóttir, Pjetur N. Pjetursson and their daughter, Sigríður Pjetursdóttir (Sigga Pje), share decades of experience in breeding, training, teaching and judging, with the horse’s welfare at the heart of it all.
Sigga’s daughter Elsa Kristín is Sólvangur’s head trainer. She has won many awards in equestrian sport and spends much of her time working in the stable, alongside her studies on the equine programme at Fjölbrautaskóli Suðurlands (FSU).
